Envision offers dual career tracks for the network systems consultant:
consulting and management, allowing for movement from one track to the
other. Both are technical and provide significant challenges and rewards.
Consultants with demonstrated aptitudes and interests are encouraged to
apply for the management track. Progress through both tracks is achieved by
consistently balancing and satisfying client, company and personal
objectives.
Training
At Envision, we knew that our success as a company depended on
maintaining our lead in our industry's knowledge of IT solutions. The
problem we faced, however, was that our employees were already the most
skilled in their field. So we decided that we had to train ourselves.
That's why we created Knowledge Quest, our internal training program for
network systems consultants.
Knowledge Quest's innovative structure provides for a variety of learning
methods, from classroom sessions to hands-on applications. Participants
learn the latest technologies, share their own ideas and experiences,
attempt new solutions without risking client assignments, and expand their
personal network by collaborating with their Envision peers from around the
country.
This versatile approach and the emphasis on solving real-world problems,
both technical and managerial, greatly improve our consultant's skills and
provide them with some of their most interesting challenges.
In fact, Knowledge Quest is tailored to address the specific requirements
of local Envision staff. Each regional office identifies their training
needs and initiates a Knowledge Quest. A coordinator then organizes the
teaching peers and materials required. The resulting Knowledge Quest
typically runs two to three weeks, with one evening session per week lasting
approximately three hours.
Knowledge Quest also uses additional resources, including computer
training modules, vendor presentations, remote labs and technology
symposiums.
With its focus on actual Envision engagements, collaborative learning and
custom training, Knowledge Quest helps Envision consultants remain the most
qualified in the industry.
